Best-price guarantee

We have all been there before. Shortly after buying a specific product, you discover that a different vendor is selling the same product at a much lower price. If the product is relatively expensive (television, computer, etc.), the price difference can be several hundred Swiss francs. If this is the case, the insurer will refund you the price difference under its best-price guarantee.

In case of any inconsistencies between the answers below and the general insurance conditions, the general insurance conditions apply in all cases.

After purchasing your new television, did you discover within 14 days that you could have bought the same product at a cheaper price from a different merchant? If this is the case, the insurer will refund you the price difference under its best-price guarantee.

The following prerequisites must be met for the insurance to provide cover:

  • A valid Viseca credit card/prepaid card or the credit/prepaid option of a valid combined payment card was used to pay for the insured item in full.

  • The cardholder can prove that they discovered the identical item at the cheaper price no later than 14 days after making their purchase.

  • The cardholder can prove that they discovered the identical, cheaper equivalent item no later than 14 days after making their purchase.

  • The price difference is at least CHF 30.

The following maximum sums insured apply:

  • CHF 1,000 per claim and year: Mastercard Flex Bronze (prepaid option), Mastercard Prepaid and Visa Prepaid

  • CHF 2,000 per claim and year: World Mastercard Flex Silver (credit option), World Mastercard Silver, Visa Classic, Visa GKB HCD Card, World Mastercard Flex Gold (credit option), World Mastercard Gold, Visa Gold and Flying Blue World Mastercard

There is no excess.

The best-price guarantee applies to any insured items that you buy from a merchant (e.g. retail store, mail order supplier, Internet seller) based in Switzerland. Please note that a website with the “.ch” domain does not necessarily belong to a company based in Switzerland. The relevant legal notice on the vendor’s website will provide information on where the provider is based.

To claim the difference in price, check whether the equivalent item really is identical, offering the same scope of performance (terms of delivery, assembly, duration of warranty, size, colour, etc.) and originating from a vendor based in Switzerland. Obtain the necessary confirmations and proof, and send us the claim documentation in full.

In order for us to check your entitlement to a refund, you must send the following documentation to the address indicated on the claim form:

  • Fully completed claim form

  • Proof that a valid Viseca credit card/prepaid card or the credit/prepaid option of a valid combined payment card was used to pay for the insured item in full (copy of monthly invoice)

  • Sales receipt/order confirmation showing the purchase price and date

  • Date-marked proof that the equivalent item is available at a lower price

Yes, the equivalent item must be the exact same product. The item’s scope of performance (terms of delivery, assembly, duration of warranty, size, colour, etc.) must also be identical.

No, the equivalent item must be available to the general public as well in order for its price to be compared fairly with the item you purchased. We cannot take into account products that are only available to a limited circle of people.

If it is not possible to obtain hard-copy proof, you can print out details of the product online. Alternatively, you can photograph the item when you see it on the shelf, and then print this photo out. Please note: in all cases it must possible to ascertain the product’s identity – i.e. the exact name (e.g. “SONY CMR-250”) – and cost; the proof you provide must also be date-marked.
