Delayed luggage insurance covers the cost of having to replace essential items of clothing and toiletries for 24 hours in the event of your luggage failing to arrive within four hours of your arrival at your destination (not your place of residence) during carriage via public transport.

The cardholder benefits from insurance cover (main, second, additional and partner cards), as do dependants living in the same household, i.e. the spouse or partner as well children up to the age of 25.

The following prerequisites must be met for the insurance to provide cover:

  • The luggage fails to arrive within four hours of the insured person’s arrival at their holiday destination.

  • The delay occurs during carriage via public transport.

  • Your trip is private in nature and lasts no more than 45 days.

  • You used a valid Viseca credit card or using the credit option of a combined payment card to cover at least 60% of the costs of the trip.

The following maximum insured amount applies:

  • CHF 1,000 per card and year: World Mastercard Flex Gold (credit option), World Mastercard Gold, Visa Gold and Flying Blue World Mastercard

There is no excess.

The following are deemed to be regular, timetable-based means of public transport requiring the purchase of a ticket: bus, train/railway, tram, aeroplane, ferry, cruise ship. Taxis and hire cars do not count as public transport.

The insurance cover applies to private holiday trips that last no more than 45 days. The trip begins when you leave your place of residence and ends when you return to your place of residence. The trip must consist of an outward and return journey and include an overnight stay.

In the event of a claim, you are obliged to limit the damage as much as possible. Please contact the carrier immediately in order to report the delay. Obtain the necessary confirmations and proof, and send us the claim documentation in full.

In order for us to check your entitlement to a refund, you must send the following documentation to the address indicated on the claim form:

  • Fully completed claim form

  • Proof that a valid Viseca credit card or using the credit option of a combined payment card was used to cover at least 60% of the costs of the trip (copy of monthly invoice)

  • All booking and reservation confirmations related to the trip

  • Carrier’s damage report

  • Original sales receipts

Please contact the carrier first. If the carrier does not settle your claim in full, the insurance on your Viseca card will come into effect.

  • Items of clothing and toiletries that you buy more than 24 hours after arrival at your holiday destination.

  • Your luggage arriving late on your return to your place of residence.

  • Purchases made after your luggage has been delivered.

The purpose of delayed luggage insurance is to enable you to buy urgent necessities until your luggage arrives. Essential items of clothing include underwear and socks. Essential toiletries include a toothbrush and toothpaste.
