In case of any inconsistencies between the answers below and the general insurance conditions, the general insurance conditions apply in all cases.

The extended warranty covers costs that are directly related to the repair or replacement of an insured device that is non-functioning due to material and/or manufacturing defects. Beginning as soon as the manufacturer’s or retailer’s warranty has expired, the term of insurance is 12 months for Silver customers and 24 months for Gold customers.

The cardholder benefits from insurance cover (main, second, additional and partner cards).

Since 1 January 2013, Swiss legislation has stipulated that a retailer’s warranty must cover a period of two years starting from the purchase date. A retailer’s warranty involves the merchant (vendor) guaranteeing that the sold item is free of material defects and defects of title. The merchant is liable for any defects that already existed at the time of purchase – including those that are only noticeable at a later time. The manufacturer’s warranty is a voluntary, customised service that the manufacturer provides to the customer beyond the scope of statutory warranty obligations. This warranty frequently relates to the functionality of the device or certain parts thereof over a specific period of time.

In the event of a claim, you must call the insurer via Viseca Card Services SA on +41 58 958 80 44 before placing the repair order or ordering a replacement, so that you can obtain the insurer’s consent to possible measures and payment of the costs involved.

In order for us to check your entitlement to a refund, you must send the following documentation to the address indicated on the claim form:

  • Fully completed claim form

  • Proof that a valid Viseca credit card was used to cover at least 80% of the cost of the insured device (copy of monthly invoice)

  • Copy of purchase receipt or warranty certificate

Additionally depending on the loss event:

  • Repairs: invoice including details of the company/person that/who detected the device malfunction and is permitted to carry out the repair as a certified repair centre of the manufacturer in question.

  • Replacements: copy of the sales receipt.

The insurance is included in the annual fee for your Viseca credit card and is not subject to any additional costs.
