• At least 60% of the price of the insured ticket was paid for with a Viseca credit card and the ticket was purchased for private purposes.

The following qualify as insured events:

• Serious illness, serious accident or death of the ticket holder or a related person.
• Quarantine of the ticket holder.
• Failure to arrive due to the delay or failure of the public transport or means of transport, or due to vehicle failure resulting from a breakdown or accident.
• Receipt by the ticket holder of an official summons to appear in court.
• Postponement of the event, preventing the ticket holder from attending due to military service and civil protection, a previously booked holiday, a business event or an invitation to a wedding.

The following qualify as related persons:

• spouse or partner
• fellow residents
• parents and step-parents
• children, step-children, foster children and adoptive children
• siblings
• carers of minors or relatives in need of care
• legal guardians and persons under guardianship
• very close friends or relatives with whom there is extensive contact.

Related persons are not insured persons and therefore do not benefit from insurance protection. However, if a trip or an event must be cancelled or interrupted due to an accident or serious illness concerning a related person, or if the event cannot be attended for this reason, this is an insured event.

Any means of transport running regularly on the basis of a timetable and subject to a fee. Taxis, rental cars and cruise ships are not regarded as public transport or means of transport.

• The organiser is unable to deliver its contractual services either fully or in part.
• The event has been cancelled by the organiser.
• The organiser is obliged according to legal or contractual provisions to reimburse the customer for services not provided.

No. To benefit from insurance cover, you must use a valid Viseca credit card or, as a mandatory requirement, the credit function of a valid combined payment card to pay for at least 60% of the travel costs, item, device or ticket.
