The insurance covers the cardholder (primary, second, additional and partner cards), their spouse or partner or registered partner living in the same household and children under the age of 25 who are entitled to support, provided they live in the same household or are resident in Switzerland.

The following prerequisites must be met for the insurance to provide cover:

• The luggage fails to turn up within four hours of the arrival of the insured person at the destination (excluding the place of residence).
• The delay occurred in connection with travel by public transport or means of transport.
• The trip is a private trip lasting no more than 90 days (duration of trip unlimited for Visa Platinum).
• At least 60% of the travel costs were paid for with a Viseca credit card.

The following maximum insured sum applies per event:

• CHF 1 000: World Mastercard Gold, Visa Gold and Flying Blue World Mastercard.
• CHF 2 000: Visa Platinum

The insurance covers the arrival, delayed by at least four hours, of the insured person’s luggage at the destination (excluding the place of residence). The luggage must have been transported using public transport or means of transport.

Insurance cover exists for private holiday trips. The trip begins when the insured person leaves their place of residence, involves at least one overnight stay away from the place of residence, must comprise an outward and return journey and ends when they return to their place of residence. The maximum duration of a trip is 90 days for Silver and Gold cards or unlimited with Visa Platinum. This does not apply to services provided under the medical travel assistance. Here the maximum duration of a trip is always 90 days.

Any means of transport running regularly on the basis of a timetable and subject to a fee. Taxis, rental cars and cruise ships are not regarded as public transport or means of transport.

Items excluded from the insurance cover include the following:

• Luggage arriving late on the return trip to the place of residence.
• Purchases made after the luggage has been delivered.
• Delays due to confiscation of the luggage by the authorities.
• Delays and costs resulting from excess luggage when travelling by air.

In the event of a claim, you are obliged to limit the damage or loss as much as possible. Please contact the transport company immediately to report the delay and have a damage report drawn up. Obtain the necessary confirmations and evidence, and send us the complete claim documentation.

Send the claim form and the following documents to the insurer as soon as possible:

• Evidence of delay (also known as property irregularity report/PIR)
• Purchase receipts for replacement purchases made

No. To benefit from insurance cover, you must use a valid Viseca credit card or, as a mandatory requirement, the credit function of a valid combined payment card to pay for at least 60% of the travel costs, item, device or ticket.
