Luggage insurance

The Rio Carnival has always been a dream of yours, and now you’re sitting in a taxi on the way from the airport to the hotel in Copacabana. As you get out, you suddenly feel a violent blow to your side; your suitcase is wrenched from your hand and is gone. That’s not how you imagined this moment – but at least Viseca’s luggage insurance will get you through the worst of this.

In future, you can start every trip feeling relaxed and secure. With luggage insurance, your luggage is insured against theft, damage or loss during the trip.

The insurance covers the cardholder (primary, second, additional and partner cards), their spouse or partner living in the same household and children under the age of 25 who are entitled to support, provided they live in the same household or are resident in Switzerland.

The following prerequisites must be met for the insurance to provide cover:

  • The luggage was damaged, destroyed, lost or stolen during the trip.
  • The trip is a private trip lasting no more than 90 days (duration of trip unlimited for Visa Platinum).
  • At least 60% of the travel costs were paid for with a Viseca credit card.

The following maximum insured sum applies per event:

  • CHF 5 000: World Mastercard Gold, Visa Gold and Flying Blue World Mastercard.
  • CHF 10 000: Visa Platinum


There is no policy excess.

The insurance is included in the annual fee for your Viseca card and does not cause any additional costs.
