Collision damage insurance on hired vehicles

Collision damage insurance on hired vehicles

On your business trip, you are involved in an accident with your hire car. Luckily, no one was hurt. But your hire car suffered damage. Are the costs of the accident insured?

With the Mastercard® Corporate Card or Mastercard® Business Card, you don’t have to worry, because when you use your credit card to pay for at least 50% of the costs of the car hire, fully comprehensive insurance and collision damage excess waiver insurance are included.

What if you’ve hired a car and now it has sustained material damage? Hire car insurance provides compensation for material damage to hired cars caused by theft or damage that is contractually charged to the insured person. If fully comprehensive insurance has been taken out, the resulting excess that is contractually charged to the insured person will be paid up to the agreed sum insured.

The insurance covers the cardholder (primary, second, additional and partner cards), their spouse or partner living in the same household and children under the age of 25 who are entitled to support, provided they live in the same household or are resident in Switzerland.

The insurance covers hired vehicles with a total weight of up to 3 500 kg that are registered for use on public roads.

The following prerequisites must be met for the insurance to provide cover:

  • At least 50% of the costs for the rental vehicle were paid for with a valid Viseca credit card.

The following maximum insured sums apply per event:

Collision damage excess waiver on hired vehicles (CDW)

  • CHF 10 000: Mastercard Business Card Gold, Mastercard Corporate Card Gold

Fully comprehensive hire car insurance (LDW)

  • CHF 100 000: Mastercard Business Card Gold, Mastercard Corporate Card Gold

There is no policy excess.
