Search and rescue costs

Like every year, you enjoy your winter holiday in the Alps. On one of the days you stay back at the hotel to recuperate, while your partner heads out for a day of skiing. Just before midday, a heavy snowfall sets in and visibility deteriorates. Finally, your partner calls: He has lost his bearings and fallen. With the help of the mountain rescue, your partner is found and transported to the nearest hospital. And you don’t need to worry about the search and rescue costs thanks to your Viseca card.

What is insured?

If you go missing during a trip or need to be physically rescued from an emergency situation, the costs for search, rescue and recovery will be covered.

Who is insured?

The insurance covers the cardholder (primary, second, additional and partner cards), their spouse or partner living in the same household and children under the age of 25 who are entitled to support, provided they live in the same household or are resident in Switzerland.

What are the prerequisites for insurance protection?

The following prerequisites must be met for the insurance to provide cover:

During the trip or while using public transport or means of transport, the insured person goes missing or needs to be physically rescued from an emergency situation.

How high are the insured sums?

The following maximum insured sum applies per event and per person:

CHF 60 000: World Mastercard Silver, Visa Classic, Visa GKB HCD Card, World Mastercard Gold, Visa Gold, Flying Blue World Mastercard, Visa Platinum, Kiwanis Mastercard Gold and Visa Collect Card.

There is no policy excess.
