Extended warranty

What if your mobile phone suddenly breaks just after the warranty period expires? If it is worth at least CHF 100, the warranty cover will be extended automatically at no extra cost. Under the warranty, replacement and repair costs are reimbursed.

The insurance covers new devices for private purposes that are worth at least CHF 100 and belong to one of the following categories:

• Electrical household appliances: washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, stoves, ovens, microwaves, food processors, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, irons, toasters, electric toothbrushes, electric shavers, hair dryers, etc.
• Consumer electronics: televisions, projectors, DVD/Blu-ray players, home cinema systems, Hi-Fi systems, MP3 players, cameras, video cameras, GPS devices, games consoles, etc.
• Electrical communication devices: mobile phones, tablets, wearables, computers, notebooks, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, external hard disks, etc.

The following prerequisites must be met for the insurance to provide cover:

• At least 60% of the price of the insured device was paid with a Viseca credit card.
• The insured device is not more than five years old in the event of a claim.
• The insured device has an expired manufacturer’s or dealer’s warranty.
• The insured device is intended for private purposes.
• The insured device was purchased from a merchant based in Switzerland or its neighbouring countries (Germany, France, the Principality of Liechtenstein, Italy or Austria) or from an online shop aimed at Switzerland (e.g. “.ch” Internet address and/or payment in CHF).
• The value of the device is at least CHF 100.

The following maximum insured sums apply per event:

• CHF 2 000 (12-month extended warranty): World Mastercard Silver, Visa Classic and Visa GKB HCD Card.
• CHF 5 000 (24-month extended warranty): World Mastercard Gold, Visa Gold and Flying Blue World Mastercard.
• CHF 7 000 (36-month extended warranty): Visa Platinum.

There is no policy excess.

The insurance is included in the annual fee for your Viseca card and does not cause any additional costs.
