Security on your travels

Using your credit card is the simplest and most secure way to pay when you’re travelling. If you follow our tips for before, during and after your trip, you can relax and enjoy your adventures even more.

Before you travel

  • Check the expiry date on your credit card and memorise your PIN code.
  • Increase the limit on your card temporarily, if necessary.
  • Store Viseca’s 24-hour emergency phone number (+41 58 958 83 83) on your smartphone.
  • Set up your free "one" account, download the "one" app and activate push notifications. That way, you can keep track of your spending even on holiday and detect suspicious transactions immediately.
  • Activate mobile payment using the "one" app so you can start making payments again more quickly if you lose your card.
  • Take a second card with you as a back-up.

During your trip

  • Keep your card in a safe place, just as you would a large amount of cash.
  • Always carry your card with you or lock it in the hotel safe. Never leave your card unattended in your suitcase or car or on the beach.
  • Keep your credit card receipts in case you need to make a complaint.
  • Always ask to pay in the local currency if you are paying by card.
  • If your card is lost or stolen, block it immediately using the "one" app or call Viseca’s 24-hour cancellation centre. Always report any theft to the police and request a copy of the police report.

After your trip

  • Check your statement carefully and report any discrepancies within 30 days of the bill date.
