Delayed luggage insurance

Anchorage, Alaska. After a gentle landing, the Boeing 747 slowly rolls to a halt. The freezing cold couldn’t be more obvious through the window of the plane. Now nothing stands in the way of your participation in the Iditarod, the toughest sled dog race in the world. But where are your suitcases? Still they don’t appear, and soon you’re standing there alone and empty-handed in the baggage reclaim area. But things aren’t as bad as they seem – thanks to delayed luggage insurance from Viseca. If your luggage does not turn up at your holiday destination within four hours, the insurance will cover your expenses for the purchase of essential items. Then nothing really will stand in the way of your adventure!

Did your luggage ever fail to arrive at the same time and destination as you? Now help is in sight, because when you travel by public transport, if your luggage fails to turn up within four hours of arrival at your holiday destination, your expenses for the purchase of essential items are covered.

The insurance covers the cardholder (primary, second, additional and partner cards), their spouse or partner living in the same household and children under the age of 25 who are entitled to support, provided they live in the same household or are resident in Switzerland.

The following prerequisites must be met for the insurance to provide cover:

  • The luggage fails to turn up within four hours of the arrival of the insured person at the destination (excluding the place of residence).
  • The delay occurred in connection with travel by public transport or means of transport.
  • The trip is a private trip lasting no more than 90 days (duration of trip unlimited for Visa Platinum).
  • At least 60% of the travel costs were paid for with a Viseca credit card.

The following maximum insured sum applies per event:

  • CHF 500: World Mastercard Silver, Visa Classic and Visa GKB HCD Card.
  • CHF 1 000: World Mastercard Gold, Visa Gold and Flying Blue World Mastercard.
  • CHF 2 000: Visa Platinum.

There is no policy excess.

The insurance is included in the annual fee for your Viseca card and does not cause any additional costs.
