Medical travel assistance

Our 24-hour emergency travel assistance service organises the help you need worldwide any time of day or night. The travel assistance service assumes the costs of your return trip and search and rescue costs. Plus, if you should be hospitalised for a long period, the service will also organise round-trip travel for someone close to you to serve as a support person.

What is insured?

Medical travel assistance offers you round-the-clock assistance in case of a medical emergency during your trip abroad. In addition to the organisation of assistance, insured services also include cost coverage for:

Return trip, return transport or repatriation
Transfer to a suitable hospital
Medical treatment abroad (not covered by health or accident insurance)
Follow-up costs for recovery in country of residence

If you go missing during a trip or need to be physically rescued from an emergency situation, the costs for search, rescue and recovery will be covered.

Who is insured?

The insurance covers up to five persons (cardholders, employees and non-employees) on a business trip paid for in total by at least 50% with one or more insured card(s).

What are the requirements for insurance cover?

The following prerequisites must be met for the insurance to provide cover:

A medical emergency occurs during the trip abroad.
The trip is a business trip lasting no more than 120 days.
The insurer has been contacted immediately and has consented to the measures taken.

Medical treatment abroad

CHF 250 000 per event and per person: Mastercard Business Card Silver, Mastercard Corporate Card Silver
CHF 500 000 per event and per person: Mastercard Business Card Gold, Mastercard Corporate Card Gold

Follow-up costs for recovery in country of residence

CHF 50 000 per event and per person: Mastercard Business Card Silver / Gold and Mastercard Corporate Card Silver / Gold

Search and rescue costs

CHF 60 000 per event and per person: Mastercard Business Card Silver / Gold and Mastercard Corporate Card Silver / Gold

The benefits are provided on a subsidiary basis to those provided by the statutory Swiss social insurance schemes (accident insurance, health insurance, etc.) and to any other supplementary insurance policies, provided that these do not fully cover the costs of emergency hospitalisation and emergency outpatient treatment. There is no policy excess.
