In addition to arranging for assistance, the insured benefits also include covering the costs of:

  • Return journey, repatriation or transfer to a suitable hospital
  • Medical costs incurred abroad (after any costs covered by medical or accident insurance)
  • Follow-up costs for treatment in country of residence
  • Search and rescue costs

In case of emergency, please call +41 22 939 22 11.

The insurance covers up to five people (cardholder, employees and non-employees) per card on a business trip, at least 50% of which is being paid for using one or more insured card(s) in total.

The following conditions must be met in order for insurance cover to be provided:

  • A medical emergency occurs during the trip.
  • The insured person is resident in Switzerland.
  • The duration of the business trip is no longer than 120 days.
  • The insurer was contacted immediately and the insurer approved the measures taken.

The following maximum insured amounts apply per event and per person for Mastercard Commercial Card Gold:

  • Return journey and repatriation: unlimited for cardholders who are resident in Switzerland.
  • Medical costs incurred abroad: CHF 500,000 for cardholders who are resident in Switzerland.
  • Follow-up costs for treatment in country of residence: CHF 50,000
  • Search and rescue costs: CHF 60,000

The benefits are subsidiary and awarded in addition to the statutory Swiss social insurance systems (accident insurance, health insurance etc.) and other supplemental insurance, provided these do not cover the costs of an emergency hospital stay or emergency outpatient treatment in full. No excess applies.
