The insurance covers the cardholder (primary, second, additional and partner cards), their spouse or partner or registered partner living in the same household and children under the age of 25 who are entitled to support, provided they live in the same household or are resident in Switzerland.

The following prerequisites must be met for the insurance to provide cover:

• The luggage was damaged, destroyed, lost or stolen during the trip.
• The trip is a private trip lasting no more than 90 days (duration of trip unlimited for Visa Platinum).
• At least 60% of the travel costs were paid for with a Viseca credit card.

The following maximum insured sum applies per event:

• CHF 5 000: World Mastercard Gold, Visa Gold and Flying Blue World Mastercard.
• CHF 10 000: Visa Platinum

The insurance covers damage, loss, robbery (theft with the threat or use of violence against the insured person), destruction or theft of the luggage during the trip.

Insurance cover exists for private holiday trips. The trip begins when the insured person leaves their place of residence, involves at least one overnight stay away from the place of residence, must comprise an outward and return journey and ends when they return to their place of residence. The maximum duration of a trip is 90 days for Silver and Gold cards or unlimited with Visa Platinum. This does not apply to services provided under the medical travel assistance. Here the maximum duration of a trip is always 90 days.

Items excluded from the insurance cover include the following:

• Watches and jewellery.
• Cash, travel tickets, subscriptions, credit cards and securities.
• Electronic devices are limited to a maximum of CHF 2 000 per insured event.
• Theft from an unlocked motor vehicle.
• Leaving belongings behind or outside the direct personal control of the insured person.
• Damage arising from the fact that the belongings have been forgotten, left unattended or misplaced.

In the event of a claim, you are obliged to limit the damage or loss as much as possible. In the event of theft, loss, damage or destruction to/of your luggage during carriage via public transport, please contact the carrier immediately to discuss how to proceed and to obtain written confirmation. You must also report any theft immediately to the local police and have a police report drawn up. Please also keep damaged items available until the claim is settled.

Send the claim form and the following documents to the insurer as soon as possible:

• The airline’s response to the refund request
• Police report
• List of the affected items with purchase receipts
• Repair invoice or confirmation of total loss

No. To benefit from insurance cover, you must use a valid Viseca credit card or, as a mandatory requirement, the credit function of a valid combined payment card to pay for at least 60% of the travel costs, item, device or ticket.

List in the claim form all items (baggage and contents) with their respective purchase price which have been affected by theft, loss or damage. Enclose all purchase receipts with the claim documents.

In order to reimburse you, the insurer needs to see all the receipts that prove that you purchased the items in question. Therefore, please keep your purchase receipts in a safe place. If they are no longer available, request a copy of the receipt from the place of purchase. Otherwise, the insurer will be unable to provide its services.

Insured valuables including accessories must be stored under separate lock and key (suitcase, cabinet, safe) in a locked room not accessible to the general public when they are not being carried or used. The type of storage must in any case be appropriate to the value of the item.
